Rooted

May 21st - May 31st, 2018

Rooted is a ministry to young adults who have graduated from high school and are leaving home for the first time to enter college, military or vocational training. Our prayer as a church for these young adults is that they be “rooted” in their identity in Christ and grow in their faith. We want to show our support by covering these young people with prayers, words of encouragement, wisdom and love. Rooted provides a way to stay connected to their original church family while learning to connect to their extended faith family in their new location. We seek to identify mentors for each young adult who can be a steady, godly influence in these pivotal years full of momentous decisions and growth. Our prayer above all is to help them navigate these transitions by staying “rooted” in Christ:

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6

A Place in His Presence | Women's Bible Study led by Cody Andras

September 19th - November 14th, 2017

A Place in His Presence is a nine week Bible study that looks at the whole story of Scripture. The Lord’s plan, revealed in Genesis through Revelation, has always been to draw His people back to Himself. This study follows the developments of that plan through the major events of Scripture. We will follow the story from Eden through the Wilderness into the land of Israel. We will watch Israel fall to the surrounding nations and God gather them back to Himself. We will witness the life and death of the Messiah and Savior, and we will watch Him pour His Spirit out on the Church. We will look for His return, we will wait for the New Heaven and the New Earth, where everything will be made right and we really will dwell forever with our Lord. Until that day, we will consider our place in His story as we find our place in His Presence.

Whether you’re new to the study of His Word or have done hundreds of studies, we hope that this one will allow us to see the Lord and His plans for His creation in a new light and with greater clarity.

Hope you can join us! Email Corlischa@bayoucityfellowship.com with any questions.

Wisdom for Women gatherings take on the form of an informal panel discussion with a few more mature women sharing from their lives and experiences. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know other women from our church and community. Our next meeting is September 23 in Spring Branch where we will talk about learning to discern the voice of God.

Over the past few weeks our city and our people have been severely affected by Hurricane Harvey. We have mourned the tragedy and loss that go with it. Maybe you have been overwhelmed by all that transpired in front of us, but maybe you also have been stirred to action or renewed with hope when you saw The Church being a bright light within our city. Bayou City Fellowship determined to help Houston Get Home, but what does this mean to you? This month we want to gather and talk through ways that this will practically play out in our lives. We will hear from ladies who have been directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey and other natural disasters as they share on what has been the most helpful in a time where God remained their only source of stability.
