Rooted

May 21st - August 31st, 2017

Rooted is a ministry to young adults who have graduated from high school and are leaving home for the first time to enter college, military or vocational training. Our prayer as a church for these young adults is that they be “rooted” in their identity in Christ and grow in their faith. We want to show our support by covering these young people with prayers, words of encouragement, wisdom and love. Rooted provides a way to stay connected to their original church family while learning to connect to their extended faith family in their new location. We seek to identify mentors for each young adult who can be a steady, godly influence in these pivotal years full of momentous decisions and growth. Our prayer above all is to help them navigate these transitions by staying “rooted” in Christ:

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6

Kingdom Discipleship

September 25th - May 18th, 2018

Biblical Discipleship has always been His idea and His design. Throughout the Bible God has called people to walk with him, to know Him and go where He sends them (Abraham, Moses, Joshua, the Israelites, David, etc.). When Jesus walked the earth, He demonstrated what it looks like to call people to follow Him, to get to know Him and to be on a mission with Him. During the three years when Jesus walked with His disciples, He ushered in a new way of thinking and living. He transformed ordinary men into disciples, He prepared and empowered them by the infilling of the Holy Spirit and commissioned them to take the gospel message to the ends of the earth. As a result of their obedience, you and I get to be followers of Jesus today. Salvation (proclaiming Jesus as Lord) is only the start. Becoming a disciple also includes obedience to follow Jesus as we walk out our faith. As you allow His words to transform your heart, you will begin to bear fruit and you will make disciples.

Kingdom Foundations is a eight month discipleship commitment that consist of different components where you will be challenged to grow in your understanding of Kingdom theology, your relationship with Jesus, with other women and to take the Good News to the world around you. We believe that relationship is a key component to any discipleship program. Therefore this discipleship avenue includes a application form. If you are interested or have questions about this, please contact us below.

Life Together - Spring Branch

October 15th - May 13th, 2018

Bayou City Fellowship’s Women’s Ministry exists to disciple all women in their faith toward a life that is in passionate pursuit and complete devotion to Jesus. We want to be known as women who follow Jesus wholeheartedly, know Him deeply and who are on a co-mission with Him, empowered by the Holy Spirit. We believe that community and doing life together is essential in succeeding to encourage each other to continue abiding in Christ.

Therefore Life Together is an avenue of discipleship. This is open to any woman who desires to grow closer in her relationship with Jesus and other women. Over the next eight months you will gather monthly with your small group discussing one of four books and getting to share the application thereof to your personal life.

The groups will start meeting middle October 2017 and meet once a month through to end of May 2018. To get the most out of Life Together, we are reminding you that this is a commitment and it is expected to attend your monthly group meeting. Feel free to contact Corlischa Badenhorst (corlischa@bayoucityfellowship.com) with any questions.
